Ashley
Ashley was born in 1996, and came to live at Lucky Orphans in 2013 with her daughter Denise, and 3 other minis. Ashley and her family came from Pawling, when their owner's children didn't want them anymore, and weren't spending the necessary time with them.
Ashley may be small in size, but she carries an extraordinary presence. A mini with one eye and a gentle soul, Ashley teaches everyone she meets that difference is not something to fear — it’s something to honor. She moves through the world with quiet confidence, curiosity, and a softness that immediately puts people at ease.
Ashley is a cornerstone of our humane education program, where she helps children and adults learn empathy, compassion, and respect for all living beings. Her story opens conversations about kindness, resilience, and seeing beyond appearances. Without saying a word, Ashley shows that challenges do not define worth — heart does.
Every day, Ashley reminds us that healing doesn’t come in one shape or size. Her care, safety, and continued ability to serve this mission depend on consistent support. By supporting Ashley, you are helping preserve the lessons she teaches so effortlessly: that every life has value, and every being deserves care, dignity, and connection.
