Equine Assisted Program

Equine Assisted Programming

At Lucky Orphans Horse Rescue, our equine-assisted programs are grounded in compassion, professionalism, and the belief that meaningful connection can change lives. These non-riding, experiential sessions invite participants to engage with our rescued equines in ways that build trust, confidence, communication skills, and emotional resilience.

Our programs are open to individuals of all ages and backgrounds—including youth, families, veterans, first responders, and those navigating trauma, stress, grief, or personal growth. Activities are entirely ground-based and may include grooming, observation, leading, and reflective exercises with the horse, all designed to foster insight and connection in a safe and supportive environment.

Each session is tailored to the unique needs of the participant and facilitated by trained professionals certified in respected equine-assisted modalities including:

  • EAGALA (Equine Assisted Growth and Learning Association)

  • E3A (Equine Experiential Education Association)

  • Natural Lifemanship

  • ARCH (Adventures in Resilience through Connection and Horses)

Lucky Orphans is also proud to be permitted by the New York State Office of the Professions to offer services that support mental health and personal development. Our team includes certified equine specialists and wellness professionals who prioritize the dignity and wellbeing of both the people and horses involved.

As an accredited facility through the Thoroughbred Aftercare Alliance, Global Federation of Animal Sanctuaries, EQUUS Foundation, and CHA (Certified Horsemanship Association), we uphold the highest standards of safety, ethics, and equine care.

Whether you're seeking support during a life transition, looking for a team-building opportunity, or hoping to reconnect with yourself through the wisdom of the horse, our equine-assisted programs provide a unique path forward—no riding required.

Group and individual sessions are available by appointment.
