Clover’s story is one of second chances, steady growth, and a personality that was always meant to shine.
Born in 2002 and bred in Montana, Clover came to Lucky Orphans Horse Rescue in 2008 under circumstances that are all too common. She had been purchased by well-meaning parents for their son, who was excited to have a horse—until the opinions of others changed everything. When he was teased for wanting a horse, that excitement faded, and Clover was left without a place where she could truly belong.
She arrived untrained, with potential but no direction.
With the dedication of one of our volunteers, Clover was given the time and guidance she needed to learn—step by step—how to be handled, ridden, and trusted. She took to it with a willing spirit, proving herself to be thoughtful, steady, and eager to connect.
And then, she found her moment.
Clover became one of our parade horses, confidently stepping into busy, high-energy environments with ease. She loved the attention, the movement, and the energy of the crowd—thriving as the center of it all. Reliable and unshakable, she became a trusted mount, carrying riders safely while proudly representing the heart of the organization out in the community.
Today, Clover is fully retired, enjoying a quieter life after years of giving so much. The spotlight may be behind her, but her presence remains just as meaningful—steady, kind, and full of character.
Clover’s journey—from an untrained horse without direction to a confident, crowd-loving partner—reflects what patience, consistency, and belief can build over time.
By supporting Clover, you are honoring a horse who learned, grew, and gave her best—and who now deserves every moment of her peaceful retirement.
Clover went from overlooked to unforgettable.
And she loved every moment in the spotlight. 🐎💛
