Aragorn x Amaryllis “Donuts”

Karakorum Stables

Donuts, affectionately nicknamed for her sweet and gentle personality, was bred at Karakorum Stables. She never raced and came to Lucky Orphans after Karakorum closed its doors when owner Billy DiScala stepped away from racing.

When she arrived, Donuts had been living primarily on turnout and needed consistent handling and foundation work. She required patience, quiet leadership, and time to build confidence in a structured environment.

Through steady, thoughtful training and daily care, Donuts blossomed.

Today she is a barn favorite — kind, affectionate, and always curious about the people around her. She greets visitors with soft eyes and a willingness to connect, embodying the transformation that is possible when a horse is given safety, structure, and understanding.

Donuts represents what sanctuary is all about: providing a secure, lifelong home for horses who simply need a chance to thrive.
