Eighttwosixtwotwo aka “Robbie”
Although she never raced, Robbie entered training as a young Thoroughbred. She was ultimately deemed “too slow” and retired before ever making a start. During her intake evaluation at Lucky Orphans Horse Rescue, our veterinarian detected a heart murmur. While she is pasture-sound and thriving, the murmur means she will never be ridden. Protecting her long-term heart health is our priority.
And yet, Robbie has never lacked purpose.
Intelligent and curious, she loves to engage her mind. We brought her to Saratoga for Aftercare Day, where she confidently navigated a full obstacle course on the ground—ears forward, thoughtful, and proud. She enjoys puzzles, liberty work, and any opportunity to “make her people happy.” Robbie uses her brain beautifully and is always eager to participate. Gentle, sweet, and perceptive, she has become a quiet ambassador for the idea that value is not measured in starts or speed. She reminds us that not every Thoroughbred is meant for the finish line—but every Thoroughbred deserves a future.
Robbie is more than a horse who never raced. She is a symbol of legacy, generosity, and second chances.
We miss our benefactor deeply since his passing in August 2020, but through Robbie—and through the barn that shelters our herd—his impact lives on.
A horse without starts, yet full of meaning—Robbie carries history, heart, and hope. 🐎💙

Robbie’s registered name, Eighttwosixtwotwo, holds special meaning. The numbers 8-26 represent August 26—Robert Trump’s birthday. Lucky Orphans Horse Rescue stands on the farm we call home today because of Mr. Trump’s generosity and belief in our mission. Robbie serves as a living tribute to that legacy.
She is pictured with Elizabeth Trump, whose support funded the construction of our indoor arena—a space that now protects both horses and people through every season. Robbie is a quiet reminder of how generosity builds futures.
