Manny’s Rose

Lucky Orphans would like to introduce you to Manny's Rose aka Rosie!

Manny's Rose is a chestnut Thoroughbred mare, born in NY on May 7th, 2002 in New York. After racing only three times, she became a broodmare in Pleasant Valley, where she lived with her daughter, Midnight. Her owner fell ill and couldn't care for the horses anymore. Our executive director was welcomed into his room with Hospice when he signed the horses over to Lucky Orphans. At the time, we didn't have room for the mares, and we fostered them at a facility that fostered horses for other rescues.  After a few months, we became concerned and had the police escort us to the farm. What we found was heartbreaking and we immediately brought the horses home with us.

Today, the horses are thriving and loving life as members of a lifetime herd.
