Rosie, registered as Manny’s Rose, is one of the mares whose story is forever tied to the West Road rescue.
In 2019, Rosie was among the group of horses recovered from the farm on West Road, alongside Britangela and her daughter Midnight. The conditions they endured required immediate intervention, patience, and long-term commitment. What began as a rescue became a permanent promise.
As Midnight’s dam, Rosie carried not only her own history but the responsibility of motherhood under difficult circumstances. Both mares arrived needing structure, consistency, and the stability they had long been denied. At Lucky Orphans Horse Rescue, Rosie was given the space to decompress, proper nutrition to rebuild, and a calm herd environment to restore her sense of security.
Rosie is steady, observant, and deeply maternal in her presence. She carries herself with quiet dignity, preferring peaceful pasture time and the familiarity of her herd. Her bond with Midnight remains a poignant reminder of their shared past—and of the healing that comes from safety.
Rosie’s story reflects the heart of sanctuary work. Not every rescue comes from the racetrack. Some come from neglect hidden in plain sight. Horses like Rosie, Britangela, and Midnight now live free from uncertainty, protected by the commitment of a community that believes every Thoroughbred deserves dignity at every stage of life.
From hardship to healing, Rosie stands as part of a family reclaimed—and a future secured.
Safe together, forever home. 🐎💙
